A 32-camera IP surveillance system across a 4-building education campus, with 30-day cloud-backed recording and remote management for the facilities team.
Book a similar installThe client — a large secondary school — had an ageing analogue system that left several key areas uncovered. Staff couldn't reliably review footage, and the recording unit had failed twice in 18 months. They needed a modern, reliable system that the facilities manager could operate without specialist training.
We carried out a full site survey, mapping all entry points, blind spots, and high-traffic corridors before specifying a single camera. The final design used a mix of fixed turret cameras for corridors and classrooms, and PTZ units on the main entrance and sports field perimeter.
All cameras run on a managed PoE network, with footage stored on a local NVR with simultaneous cloud backup — meaning even in the event of on-site hardware failure, recordings are preserved.
"DARKGRID handled everything from the survey to the staff walkthrough. The system has been running without a single issue and the remote access means we can check any camera from our phones in seconds."
— Facilities ManagerInstallation was completed across a single school holiday week — 4 days of work with zero disruption to term time. All 32 cameras were online, tested and handed over with a full site documentation pack. Staff were trained on the viewer app in under an hour.
The school now has complete coverage of all key areas, a retention policy they're confident in, and a system that can scale as the campus grows.
